Investing in the stock market is a way to participate in the wealth creation process in the society. While it can be very rewarding, beginning investors are often confused with the various concepts and can make mistakes if they do not follow the right investment strategy. We are putting together an investment guide that explains various concepts and terms you will come across as a investor. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced investor, you will find resources that will help educate, explain and clarify. The guide is focused on a stock investor, however if you invest in mutual funds or etfs, you will still find many ideas that you can apply in your own investment process. If you are a beginner, you should start investing with real money so you get a sense of what it is like and you make mistakes early on in your investment career. Needless to say, your initial portfolio should be small. Invest what you can afford to lose in the beginning and as you grow more confident, you can start expanding your portfolio with additional capital. Most brokers today offer commission free and fractional share investing so size of the portfolio should not be an impediment to your learning.
