Carnival of Value Investing – The Inaugural Edition

Welcome to the March 26, 2011 edition of Carnival of Value Investing.

Given the short notice between the Carnival inception and the first edition, I am really happy that we are able to put this edition out with contributions from Ken and the Big Cajun Man. I am looking forward to growing this carnival into a regular weekly feature with excellent participation.

It is always nice to have a system that makes buy low and sell high automatic. Or as close to it as possible.

Ideas and Watch List

Big Cajun Man presents Bonds are not a Safe Haven Right Now posted at Canadian Personal Finance Blog, saying, “Bonds are not the safe haven some folks might think.”

This completely agrees with my thinking about bonds. The specter of high interest rates looms in the future and when this happens the bond prices will be decimated. Better to sell bonds now and buy when the interest rates jump.

That concludes this edition.
